- I've tried both, and I prefer Conceive Plus x - Thanks Sazza, based on their websites (below) I think Conceive plus seems to be aimed to actually help TTC, **** seems to be more about preventing 'vaginal dryness' with the fact it's safe for TTC as a secondary selling point. - hi ive used **** but found it felt very wet .....ive also used conceive plus and still am and find it more of a natural feel ......i did conceive last month so it must have worked -unfortunetley ended as a chemical preg. but i def think it helped with conception  - We used **** for about 3months, no results. We switched to concieve plus a got bfp that month!! could be coincidence but I would give it a go. Good luck ladies xx - Thanks ladies! Glad to see conceive plus is winning the poll because I bought some today!  March 2, 2010, link to the public forum posts: Here

Can regular lubricants affect fertility and sperm motility?

Yes, many standard lubricants can be harmful to sperm as they may alter vaginal pH and reduce sperm motility. The British Fertility Society recommends using fertility-friendly lubricants that are pH-balanced and isotonic if you need additional lubrication whilst trying to conceive. Regular lubricants like petroleum jelly or water-based products designed for general use are not formulated with sperm health in mind.

Is Conceive Plus recommended by UK fertility specialists?

Conceive Plus is widely recommended by fertility specialists internationally and has been clinically tested to maintain sperm motility. Whilst the NHS doesn't specifically endorse particular lubricant brands, many private fertility clinics across the UK do recommend pH-balanced, sperm-friendly alternatives like Conceive Plus to couples undergoing fertility treatment.

What does pH-balanced mean for fertility lubricants?

pH-balanced means the lubricant is formulated to match the natural pH of the vagina (around 4.5), which is essential for maintaining a sperm-friendly environment. Standard lubricants often have a different pH that can create a hostile environment for sperm. A pH-balanced formula helps ensure sperm can survive and reach the egg more effectively.

How is fertility-focused lubricant different from regular vaginal dryness products?

Fertility-focused lubricants like Conceive Plus are specifically formulated to support sperm survival and motility as their primary function, whereas vaginal dryness products prioritise comfort and moisture management. Whilst dryness products may be safe for trying to conceive, they aren't designed with sperm health as the main consideration, making fertility-specific lubricants a better choice for couples actively trying to conceive.

Should I use lubricant during every intercourse when trying to conceive?

Only use fertility-friendly lub

ricant if you naturally experience vaginal dryness, as excessive lubrication can sometimes dilute natural cervical mucus which aids sperm transport. Many fertility experts suggest relying on natural lubrication during your fertile window when possible, but if you do need lubricant, ensure it's specifically formulated to be sperm-friendly.

Where can I buy Conceive Plus in the UK?

Conceive Plus is available through various UK retailers including online pharmacies, high street chemists, and fertility-focused websites. You can typically order it with free shipping and it's competitively priced around £20. Always purchase from reputable UK suppliers to ensure you're receiving a genuine product.

Can using fertility lubricant guarantee conception?

No, fertility lubricant cannot guarantee conception as many factors affect fertility including age, timing, ovulation, and sperm health. However, using a sperm-friendly lubricant removes a potential barrier to conception and ensures you're not inadvertently harming sperm motility. If you've been trying to conceive for over a year (or six months if over 35), the NHS recommends seeking advice from your GP about fertility testing.
