Hi all there was a thread going last month regarding conceive plus lubricant (available from boots £14.99) at that point I was on the 2ww and waiting to see if I had conceived. I got what I thought was my af (9 days late)but actually turned out to unfortunately be a very early miscarriage. I didn't realise for a while as I hadn't managed to get a positive test at home but was since confirmed by blood hcg. That was the first month we had used it, had been trying for 9 months until then with zero success. (Me 23, DP 24- if anyone interested). So... yesterday, now at month 10 I was still sort of coming to terms with what happened last month and utterly convinced I was not pg now as have nothing like the symptoms I had last month. (and therefore have been drinking loads of wine, eating sushi and had a terrible cold so have taken every over the counter remedy known to man) Tested on Friday 4wks 6days since lmp and BFN!! BUT was a few days lateish so decided to buy 2 more tests yesterday on my way home with the intention to wait until this morning. Turns out I couldn't wait so I thought what the hell and POAS. Second line visible within about a minute, I almost fell of the loo. The first BFP I've had in my life, crazy. By dates I am 5+5 today SO... Go buy some from boots now, you have nothing to lose ladies now I have everything crossed for myself and for all of you too TD xxxxxxxxxxxxx (posted at: http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/1105927-ATTENTION-TTC-LADIES-Conceive-plus-does-work)

Can I use regular lubricant when trying to conceive?

Regular lubricants can be harmful to sperm motility and may reduce your chances of conception. Most standard lubricants are not pH-balanced for sperm survival and can create an inhospitable environment. Fertility-friendly lubricants like Conceive Plus are specifically formulated to maintain sperm viability and are recommended by fertility specialists.

Where can I buy Conceive Plus in the UK?

Conceive Plus is available from Boots for £14.99 and other UK health retailers. It's also available online with free shipping options. Many NHS-affiliated fertility clinics and private fertility centres recommend it to patients as part of natural conception support.

How long does it typically take to conceive naturally?

For most couples under 35, conception can take up to 12 months of regular unprotected intercourse. If you've been trying for longer than this, the NHS recommends speaking with your GP about fertility investigations. Using fertility-friendly products alongside natural conception methods may help optimise your chances during this time.

Is Conceive Plus clinically proven to help with fertility?

Yes, Conceive Plus has clinical studies demonstrating it maintains sperm motility and is pH-balanced to support the sperm's journey. It's used by couples in over 70 countries and recommended by fertility specialists worldwide. However, it's important to note that lubricant is just one factor in natural conception—timing, overall health, and medical factors also play significant roles.

Should I see a fertility specialist if I haven't conceived after trying?

The NHS recommends seeking GP advice if you've been trying to conceive for 12 months (or 6 months if you're over 36). Your GP can refer you to a fertility clinic on the NHS, or you can access private fertility services through HFEA-regulated clinics. Early evaluation can identify any underlying issues and help guide appropriate treatment.

Can miscarriage affect my chances of conceiving again?

Early miscarriage does not typically affect future fertility or your ability to conceive. Most women can try again in their next cycle after an early miscarriage, though it's advisable to allow time for emotional recovery. If you experience recurrent miscarriages (three or more), the NHS recommends investigation through your GP or a specialist clinic.

What should I do differently when trying to conceive naturally?

Focus on timing intercourse around ovulation (typically 12-16 days before your next period), maintaining general health, reducing stress, and avoiding harmful substances. Using a fertility-friendly lubricant like Conceive Plus, tracking your cycle, and ensuring both partners are in good health can optimise your chances. If natural methods aren't successful after 12 months, consult your GP about next steps.
